Cannabis History Docent Intern WANTED!

Role Description

The Cannabis Historical Society, situated on the iconic High Street, is seeking enthusiastic Cannabis History Docent Interns to join our team dedicated to historical education, preservation, and exhibition within the cannabis industry. As part of our docent team, you'll have the unique opportunity to conduct tours of Cannabis Historical Society’s museum collection, sharing your knowledge and passion for cannabis history with visitors. This position not only offers a deep dive into the rich tapestry of cannabis history but also includes profit-sharing opportunities from museum admissions, making it a rewarding experience for those looking to contribute to the cannabis community's educational efforts.

Looking for someone to have the facility open 2 days a week for docent tours, or for events if a history exhibit is booked at an event 

  • Idea: Organize with grow / processor to do shuttle tour there & here at our museum 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the development and creation of exhibits for the Cannabis Historical Society and external cannabis industry events.
  • Update docent tags and create new graphics to enhance the educational impact of museum exhibits.
  • Conduct informative and engaging tours of the museum, providing insights into the history and significance of cannabis.
  • Participate in special events hosted by the museum, including educational sessions and presentations to the local community.

Qualifications:

  • A keen interest in cannabis history and a passion for education and preservation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information engagingly and accurately.
  • Creativity and proficiency in graphic design and social media management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently manage projects.
  • Enthusiasm for public speaking and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Must be 18+, but open to all ages

With a commitment to fostering local talent, we are primarily seeking student interns from the Columbus, Ohio area.


Intern positions available in Event Coordinator, AV Engineer, Graphic Design, Multimedia/Social Media, Hospitality, Cannabis History Docent, and Cannabis Chef.
